Youth ages 5 and up join us for ninety-minute lesson blocks that include both ground and riding instruction. We teach safety, groundwork, equine care and knowledge, equipment maintenance, and horseback riding. All classes are taught with an SEL focused approach and foster personal development. Equestrian Team Membership: Current Openings! SCS Equestrian Team tryouts are open to anyone attending horsemanship classes weekly. Travel Team members must ride a minimum of 2x weekly and are eligible to attend off-farm events such as trail rides, hunter paces, and horse shows. Ancillary Team members must ride a minimum of 1x weekly and may attend on-site team meetings and are eligible to "catch ride" at horse shows on a case by base basis. There are no horse rental or off-site coaching fees at this time. Some events do charge registration, class, or parking fees and may require protective gear or outfits for riders that must be borrowed or purchased. Returning in the FutureSummer Day Camp MWF Weekly Sessions Return in 2026
Open to all youth ages 5 and up! Join us on the farm campus for fun and educational summer day camps next year. Sessions recur weekly on MWF for four sessions next year! We lead "farm life" activities with designated activity blocks, including structured activities & games plus scheduled down time for small groups. Expect outdoor play, horsemanship, crafts, & games. Provide your own food & we will provide the fun! Day program runs from 9am-3pm in the summer. Earlybird drop-off from 8am and late pickup available through 5pm for additional fee. Summer Day Camp for Equestrian Team Members - Returning Summer 2026 Available with flexible drop off & pick up times. Expect regular horsemanship instruction & chores, outdoor play, & crafts. Provide your own food & we provide the pony time! Participants must be a committed member of the SCS Equestrian Team to attend. Farm School Full Day Program 8am-3pm - Returning TBD Learners attend the farm campus for schooling with our academic partner, Acellus Academy, or bring their own curriculum. Each day includes horsemanship, art, and nature programs. Farm School Half Day Program Time Varies - Returning TBD Learners attend farm school for enrichment opportunities or academic support. Students may participate in horsemanship, art, and/or nature programs, depending on the day. Time blocks available are 8am-12pm for academic support and group elective classes or 12pm-3pm for nature, art, and small group enrichment activities each day. Farm School Co-Operative Class Options - Returning TBD Attention homeschoolers! We will continue to accommodate families and children of all ages interested in a co-operative setting at our school house. Class offerings include horsemanship, nature study & exploration, cooking, arts & crafts, and more. Please contact us if you are interested in teaching a class, we appreciate parent volunteers.
