Wow, it has been an incredibly busy season! Cookies for Chariy has really been picking up when we are able to make it to the market.

Even though we missed a few weeks due to me being sick, we've still raised a good chunk of money for CVHR. Last week we were set up from 8am-3pm for Scottsville Community Day and it was our best day yet! 

I was looking forward to another fantastic market today in Scottsville, but unfortunately our car broke down last night and we could not make it today. This was after I already made a double batch of Cowboy Cookies and banana bread. So, anyone want to buy some cookies or banana bread? Seriously! If you can pay via PayPal, I will send you a bag of cookies in the mail. Although I can't ship them in the jars I normally sell them in, I can send the same amount of cookies for $5. That price includes shipping! The proceeds will go to CVHR.

Today was CVHR's third birthday! Although we couldn't make it to the celebration at the rescue, we still had a lovely Saturday at the market. It was a nice break from the sticky, humid heat that has been plaguing the area.  

Today we offered free samples of zucchini bread and an assortment of cookies we have available. Since there were so many requests for banana nut bread, you'll definitely find some on our table next week!

The zucchini bread has been a hit ever since we started bringing it as well. Soon we hope to introduce a savory bread or two for more variety. Onion bread, cheese bread, and maybe some kind of corn bread are on the list to consider. What would you like to see on our table?

Cookies for Charity is finally picking up and getting noticed! We plan on being at the Scottsville Farmer's Market every Saturday from 8:30am until 12:30pm. We hope to see you there!

Our cause is Central VA Horse Rescue and we are baking our hearts out to help the horses. Cookies and breads are freshly baked each week for your enjoyment.

We pride ourselves by offering only the freshest and most delicious baked goods made from high quality ingredients. A generous portion of the proceeds of each sale is donated directly to CVHR to help horses in need.

To date we've raised over $100 for the cause! Every little bit helps and we appreciate every cookie, down to the last crumb. Thank you all for your continued support!

Here at Cookies for Charity, we love animals...especially horses! We also love baking. Who would have thought those two things could be brought together? Well, we did it! 

After a trying first few weeks, we have finally kicked off into a successful venture to help the horses of Central VA Horse Rescue. 

CVHR is a 501(3)c Nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of needy horses. As an avid follower and supporter, I was thrilled to have the chance to work with this organization as a volunteer. After writing their monthly newsletter for over a year, I felt compelled to do more to help. Once I found a willing friend to dive in with, Cookies for Charity was born!

Together, Samantha Campbell and I began baking cookies with hopeful hearts. We made our first dozen sales slowly and deliciously. Finally, we were approved to set up a table at the Scottsville Farmer's Market. Now, we have a weekly venue where we can set up and support our cause!
